What It Is

Aegis Node is a sovereign, local-first privacy guardian and autonomous agent ecosystem. It provides users with a zero-cloud infrastructure to manage sensitive biometric/health data and execute self-custodial, gasless multi-chain financial transactions.

By combining on-device AI inference with decentralized peer-to-peer networking, Aegis Node ensures that a user's most critical data—whether it's a medical receipt or a private wallet key—never touches centralized cloud servers (like AWS or Google Cloud). It is designed to act as an untethered, persistent background agent that protects the user's digital footprint and physical assets without relying on intermediaries.

How It Works

Aegis Node achieves this zero-cloud autonomy by leveraging three core technologies operating in concert:

1. Peer-to-Peer Networking (The Pears / Hyperswarm Stack)

The architecture eliminates the need for centralized databases or API relays. We built a local "Host Node" on a WSL (Ubuntu) machine and a cross-platform mobile client (running on a Moto G06 via React Native and Bare Kit).

• These devices discover each other over the local network or internet using a cryptographic topic key on the Hyperswarm Distributed Hash Table (DHT).
• Once connected, they establish a direct, encrypted JSON tunnel. This allows the mobile device to instantly sync data (like prompts or image payloads) directly to the local laptop node, completely bypassing the cloud.

2. Local AI Inference (The QVAC Engine)

Instead of sending sensitive user data to an external API (like OpenAI), Aegis Node relies entirely on local compute.

• The WSL Host Node integrates the @qvac/sdk, running small, efficient, quantized models (like fabric-llm-gguf) directly on the local hardware.
• When the mobile client sends an unstructured prompt or a multimodal payload (e.g., a photo of a medical receipt), the local QVAC engine parses the OCR data, extracts relevant information, and streams the structured JSON response back over the Pears tunnel. The data never leaves the user's physical possession.

3. Autonomous Gasless Settlement (WDK Framework)

Aegis Node gives its local AI agent the ability to execute real economic actions without human friction or native gas token requirements.

• We integrated the Tether Wallet Development Kit (@tetherto/wdk) directly into the background node.
• When the QVAC agent determines an action is necessary (e.g., revoking a compromised smart contract or paying an API subscription), it utilizes the WDK MCP server.
• The agent autonomously checks balances via the WDK Indexer API and routes the transaction through an EIP-7702 (or ERC-4337) gasless module. The network fees are abstracted through a paymaster and settled in USD₮, allowing the local AI to manage financial defense and operations entirely on its own.

The Result

Aegis Node delivers a seamless multi-device experience where private telemetry is ingested locally, synced securely via P2P networks, processed intelligently by on-device AI, and capable of executing self-custodial multi-chain actions—all while remaining 100% cloud-free.
